When Decentralization Meets Reality
Decentralization is a privilege that can only be possible with a very small group of people/community.
This privilege can't be scaled to masses.
No matter what appeal blockchain has, hierarchy in a product based on decentralized systems is inevitable if it needs to sustain with time and to keep it updated with state of the art technology.
The dream of true decentralization faces a fundamental scaling problem. As products grow, technical complexity creates barriers to participation, efficiency demands faster decision making, and economic incentives begin to favor centralized control.
I still have to read more about what blockchain is, but from what I've seen so far, the promise of radical decentralization in blockchain products seems to not really fit with the practical realities of building sustainable technology.
